Voluntary Resignation
Degree-seeking students may officially resign from the MA or PhD in Economics programs. Find more information on graduate policies regarding voluntary resignation and a link to the required form:
How to Voluntarily Resign from your Academic Program
Approval is required by your Economics Program Director.
On-campus programs: For the MA or PhD in Economics on-campus programs, the Director of Graduate Programs must approve this action.
Please add Dr. Carlos D. Ramirez, cramire2@gmu.edu, in the form as your Program Director for approval.
Online MA option: For the Online MA in Economics program option, approval is required by the Online MA Director.
Please add Dr. Christopher Coyne, ccoyne3@gmu.edu, as your Program Director for approval.
The Voluntary Resignation form must be approved by the Economics program, the Dean's Office, and Student Accounts, and is then submitted to the Office of the University Registrar for final processing in the student academic record.
The Voluntary Resignation notation will be added to the student transcript. Students who resign after the drop period may either complete the courses they are currently enrolled in or immediately withdraw, which will result in grades of W on the student's transcript for that academic term. All students that have resigned will be removed from any future registered courses. Program resignation is final in that the transcript notation shall not be removed. Students that attempt to return to an academic program must formally apply for admission.
University Catalog: Readmission to Graduate Study at Mason (AP.6.6.3)
