The College of Humanities and Social Sciences is proud to honor Anne McCabe, BA Economics '06, with the 2026 Distinguished Alumni Award in Latin American studies. McCabe has gone from Wall Street to entrepreneur. Before founding Curo Private Wealth in 2014, she spent a decade gaining Wall Street experience with Ameriprise Financial, UBS, and Wells Fargo.

The College of Humanities and Social Sciences is proud to honor Abby Hall, MA Economics '13, PhD '15, with the 2026 Distinguished Alumni Award in economics. Hall is a professor of economics at the University of Tampa in Tampa, Florida.

The College of Humanities and Social Sciences is proud to honor Eileen Kiely, MA Economics '96, with the 2025 Distinguished Alumni Award in economics. Kiely is managing director at BlackRock, where she leads the firm’s counterparty, trading, and securities lending risk function.

The College of Humanities and Social Sciences is proud to honor Ofori Boateng, BS Economics '09, with the 2024 Distinguished Alumni award in economics. Boateng is a prominent figure in the renewable energy industry, known for his innovative contributions and strategic leadership. He has held key positions in leading renewable energy companies and is currently the CEO of Strategic Security Systems.

Thankful that during my graduate studies at Mason I was able to learn a variety of [quantitative and qualitative] skills... that I feel translate heavily in the workplace, and [am] also thankful that my professors emphasized real world applications in the classroom. My most memorable experience was when I studied abroad over in Oxford England....
