The College of Humanities and Social Sciences is proud to honor Abby Hall, MA Economics '13, PhD '15, with the 2026 Distinguished Alumni Award in economics.
Hall is a professor of economics at the University of Tampa in Tampa, Florida. She is also a Senior Affiliated Scholar with the Mercatus Center at George Mason University, a Senior Fellow at the Independent Institute, a Public Choice and Public Policy Fellow with the American Institute for Economic Research, and a Non-Resident Fellow with Defense Priorities.
She works to make economics accessible to wider audiences. Hall regularly works with local, national, and international media to bring much needed economic insights to the broader public. She’s been featured in Forbes, Newsweek, Fortune, and the LA Times, among many others.
The College of Humanities and Social Sciences honors distinguished alumni each fall at Community and Catalysts: Achievements, Awards, and Innovations.
