Gareth Markel is a second year PhD student studying economics at the ICES research center at George Mason University. Prior to GMU, he completed a masters degree in applied economics at the University of Alabama, where he also completed his bachelor's degree in 2018. Between the University of Alabama and George Mason, he worked as a commodities trading analyst focusing on electricity markets.
