Gabriella (Gabby) Beaumont-Smith is a first-year PhD student and a PhD Fellow at the Mercatus Center.
Previously, she worked as a policy analyst at the Cato Institute’s Herbert A. Stiefel Center for Trade Policy Studies as a Senior Policy Analyst in Trade and Macroeconomics at The Heritage Foundation. Her research focused on the economics of U.S. trade policy and has been published in numerous outlets, including the Wall Street Journal and The Washington Times. She has appeared on television and radio stations across the United States and has testified before the United States Trade Representative, the United States Department of Commerce, and the United States Department of Agriculture.
Education
Gabby holds an MA in economics from George Mason University where she was an MA Fellow at the Mercatus Center, and a BA in economics from the University of Connecticut.
