Ashruta Acharya is a second-year PhD student in the Department of Economics and a PhD Fellow at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University. She earned her BBA and MA degrees in Economics from Wichita State University where she also worked for the Institute for the Study of Economic Growth. Acharya is also the founding President of the Society of Nepali Women in Economics. Her research interests include economic history, institutions, development, and monetary economics.
