Fabio Rojas, sociologist from Indiana University, is visiting us at GMU next week. He's got quite a cv - and national attention for his recent research on the anti-war movement: http://mypage.iu.edu/~frojas/research.html.
Rojas will present his book draft, "All of Sociology in Four E-Z Steps: Social Theory in the Age after Parsons." on Friday, July 22 at the Buchanan House from 10:30-11:45 AM.
Summary:
"In the 1950s, Talcott Parsons proposed a great synthesis of the social
sciences. This synthesis was rejected by modern sociology. What has
happened since then? This talk will summarize the modern landscape of
contemporary sociology. Accessible to a broad audience."
Prof. Rojas will also be available to meet with students in Bryan Caplan's office in 11 Carow Hall from 1:30-2:30 PM.
