Cultural Evolution, Collective Brains and Innovation
The George Mason Department of Economics invites the university community to join us for our first James Buchanan and Vernon Smith Seminar presented by Dr. Joseph Henrich, Ruth Moore Professor of Anthropological Biology at Harvard University.
This new seminar series is named to honor the Economics Department's two Nobel Laureates and to recognize scholars who have made outstanding contributions to Economics.
Dr. Henrich’s research focuses on evolutionary approaches to psychology, decision-making and culture, and includes topics related to cultural learning, cultural evolution, and the emergence of complex human institutions.
He will discuss the role of culture and our collective brain driving human evolution and innovation.
