Congratulations to Merone Hailemeskel, BA '15, MPP ’17, winner of the 2025 Graduate of the Last Decade Award!
Merone serves as Digital Director and Communications Associate for President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama. She’s led national education initiatives like Reach Higher and Better Make Room, and previously served as Digital Director at Common App, supporting 900+ colleges.
The Graduate of the Last Decade (GOLD) Award is part of George Mason’s Celebration of Distinction, which has honored alumni achievements for over 30 years.
Merone was also previously honored by the College of Humanities and Social Sciences with their Graduate of the Last Decade award.
