Leeson honored with the 2022 Adam Smith Award by The Association of Private Enterprise Education

On April 8, 2022 the Association of Private Enterprise Education named Peter T. Leeson, George Mason University’s Duncan Black Professor of Economics and Law, as the recipient of its 2022 Adam Smith Award.

Previous recipients include economics Nobel laureates Douglass North, James M. Buchanan, Vernon L. Smith, and Elinor Ostrom, as well as other economics luminaries such as Armen Alchian, Harold Demsetz, and Gordon Tullock.

The Adam Smith Award is the highest honor bestowed by APEE, given to recognize an individual who has made a sustained and lasting contribution to the perpetuation of the ideals of a free market economy as first laid out in Adam Smith’s Wealth of Nations.

Congratulations, Dr. Leeson!
