Accelerated Master's Programs Overview
Accelerated master’s degree programs are designed for Mason’s highly qualified and highly motivated undergraduates.
- They provide a streamlined application process with no application fee.
- They allow students to apply 12 graduate credits to their undergraduate degrees.
- Students have the opportunity to take an additional 6 graduate credits to be held for reserve graduate credit (applying only to the graduate degree).
- Students may start their graduate degrees with up to 18 credits earned as undergraduates, and then complete the master's in as few as two semesters.
Highly qualified undergraduates from any major may be admitted to the economics bachelor's/accelerated master's program and earn a BA/BS in their chosen major and an MA in Economics in as few as five years!
**NEW FUNDING AVAILABLE: Undergraduates from any major approved to start the BAM pathway for the Fall 2026 term may be eligible for $2000.00 in scholarship funding after they start the pathway this fall and enroll in their first term after completing the transition to the MA Economics program.

The department also grants recognition fellowship awards for exceptional MA applicants. Accelerated Master’s students are eligible to apply for this funding. Applications for the Economics MA Fellowship may be submitted in the final undergraduate semester for disbursement after the transition to the MA program.
