Kaitlyn Woltz

What made you interested in studying economics?

I became interested in studying economics in high school due to my dad’s interest in the topic. I majored in economics in undergrad and since then my passion for the subject has only grown. I believe economics can provide important insights to some of the most important and pressing questions in society.

What kinds of opportunities have been available to you while being at Mason?

While at Mason, I’ve had the opportunity to interact with some of the leading scholars in Austrian economics. Due to their mentorship, my development as a scholar as taken off.

What do you like about Mason?

Mason’s economics program is unique. There’s literally no program like it. Everyone here is passionate about economics and the research they are pursuing. The atmosphere is infectious. Being here makes you believe that you can accomplish your dreams.

How do you think your degree will prepare you for your career goals?

The experience with researching, teaching, and engaging with other scholars that the program affords provides an insight into the life of a professor and allows me to develop the necessary skills.
