Before beginning her doctoral studies at GMU, Kathryn worked as a Fellow for the Cybersecurity and Emerging Threats team at R Street Institute, a DC-based think tank dedicated to developing free market policy solutions. She also held positions at Wal-Mart headquarters in Bentonville, AR and at World Relief in Chicago. She interned with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kosovo.

Kathryn earned a master's in economics from George Mason University, where she was a MA Fellow with the Mercatus Center, and earned her bachelor's in economics and international relations from Wheaton College.
