Doctor Hak Kil Pyo has a distinguished career of scholarship in the field of economics. Prior to joining the faculty at George Mason University Korea, he was Professor Emeritus in the economics faculty at Seoul National University. The author of articles in multiple scholarly journals and books, he taught at Seoul National University from 1981 to 2013 as a professor of international economics and econometrics.

Among Dr. Pyo’s many distinctions are being named winner of the Chung Ram Award in 1988 by Korea Economic Association, serving as President of the Korea Econometric Society, Director of the Institute for World Economy and President of the Korean International Economic Association.

Dr. Pyo earned his bachelor’s from Seoul National University and his doctorate from Clark University.
