Section Information for Fall 2019

ECON 895 Spatial Techniques in Empirical Economics will focus on three things: (1) teaching you applied, causal, econometric techniques through readings, (2) giving you experience in coding using R and ArcGIS to create and analyze spatial data, and (3) giving you a forum to work on your dissertation and get feedback. The paper you write for the class does not have to be "spatial" -- this course will be helpful for any student writing their dissertation. Much of the spatial analysis will be done using R, which I will teach the programming.
