Advising Hours for Undergraduates

The Economics Department offers appointments to students seeking Undergraduate Academic Advising. If you have a simple question, make sure you check out the FAQs page to see if the answer is there.

Spring 2024 Advising:

For the Spring 2024 semester, all advising is conducted by virtual appointments. Do not use the campus advising scheduler to schedule advising appointments.

If you wish to make an appointment with a specific member of the Undergraduate Economics Advising Team, you may find their contact information, here.

If you have a general advising question (e.g., sign up for ECON 100, 103, 104, 105, and 385 tutorings, change your major to a BA or BS Economics, or declare an Economics minor), email econbsba@gmu.edu for guidance, or to request an advising appointment with the next available advisor.

If you are an international student and require assistance related to your student visa, please email oips@gmu.edu.

Be aware some responses may take one business day or more, depending on the nature of the advising request, or the volume of advising emails.

If you send an email requesting advising, it is required you include your Mason G#. Please include detailed questions about your advising needs in your email, so we may better assist you.

If you are uncertain of what courses you need to register for, use Degree Works in Patriot Web. It is a "virtual advisor" that will show you what requirements are missing from your degree plan. See this guide for instructions on how to use Degree Works.
