A note from Charlotte McFaddin

Former participant of ICES High School Economics Workshop

This summer I had the opportunity to attend an ICES Economic Workshop for high school students.  Although I was uncertain at first, this workshop proved to be an extremely worthwhile educational experience. Throughout the week, experiments were performed that were instructive, yet fun—each one teaching a new economic principle. The lectures were extremely interesting and covered topics such as comparative advantage, supply and demand, and public choice. The instructors were well prepared, very knowledgeable and open to answering questions. This workshop gave me a better understanding of economic principles, prompting me to consider pursuing economics as a career.
